How I’m Growing Slowly on Substack
October reflections on alignment, intuition, and the power of letting go.
When I think about how to grow your Substack slowly, it’s not about chasing numbers or creating every day just to stay visible.
Or at least, that hasn’t been my story.
It’s about showing up with care, building something meaningful, even if it takes time.
The month of October taught me that full-circle moments can happen even when you show up less, as long as you create with intention.
It all started with a thought: How lovely would it be to collaborate with them one day.
A few weeks later, that brand reached out for a paid collaboration. What made it special wasn’t just the opportunity, it was the timing. I’d seen another creator work with the same brand just a month before and I remember thinking how aligned that felt. I didn’t chase it. I didn’t pitch. I simply kept creating.
When I received the message, it felt like one of those full-circle moments when what you imagine begins to meet reality. I already had a story planned that fit perfectly with their campaign. The whole process felt natural and easeful.
The key here? There was no struggle. That’s how alignment feels.
At first, I thought this might just be luck, but the rest of the month followed the same pattern — small moments of alignment stacking on top of each other.
🌿 Wins Driven By Intuition
October seemed to carry that same energy in other ways, too.
1,000+ Subscribers

I crossed a milestone that still feels surreal — 1,000+ subscribers. I celebrated with a coffee and cake. What made it meaningful it was how it happened. Again, it wasn’t through strict planning or strategy, but through intuition — following the pull to write and share when it felt right.
First Pledge
Another quiet milestone: my first paid pledge. It came completely out of the blue, from someone I hadn’t seen engage before. I hadn’t planned to open paid subscriptions yet, but this reminded me that people want to support work that resonates. It was a nudge to trust that creating with care invites the right kind of support.
1:1 Strategy Session
I also had a 1:1 strategy call with another Substack creator. We talked about what’s working, what feels heavy, and how to align creativity with clarity.
That conversation helped me see how much of this path is coming together — intuition meeting structure, story meeting strategy, big ideas becoming clear.
Takeaway from this
When I look at the whole picture, one thing stands out: none of these moments came from hustle or urgency. They came from showing up consistently, creating with care, and trusting intuition. The work you do here matters, even when it feels slow.
Most opportunities don’t come from striving, they come from alignment. People are watching, reading, and connecting, even when you don’t realise it. Your work is reaching further than you think.
🌿 What Really Helps You Grow Your Substack Slowly
People often talk about “just writing more” or “posting weekly” as the secret to growth. That helps, yes, but if your tech stack isn’t aligned with your messaging and story, your efforts can easily get lost. Here are a few things I’ve worked on behind the scenes that made a real difference.
I set up Google Search Console to track visibility, a small but important SEO step that’s already helping my posts appear on Google’s first page.
Next, I updated my Substack welcome email. I was genuinely surprised by how many creators still use the default “Thanks for subscribing” message. After analysing over 100 welcome emails, I created a tutorial to help others craft one that feels more intentional and aligned with their voice.
And quietly, in the background, I launched a YouTube channel — not to chase algorithms, but to share visual tutorials for readers who prefer learning through video.
I ran a full Substack audit on my own account and the results surprised me. Since then, I’ve started working with a few creators to help them do the same.
Takeaway from this
Doing the practical and strategic work really does move things forward. Setting up systems, refining pages, and learning the tools behind the writing might not feel creative in the moment, but they build the foundation that allows creativity to flow.
The slow, steady steps make future growth feel effortless later.
🌿 Intuition Meet Strategy ( a new model for growth)
This has been my approach from the beginning — a model that’s less about striving and more about alignment. It’s a conscious shift away from constant urgency toward sustainable, intuitive growth.
The difference? Forcing a door open versus walking through one that’s already waiting.
Full-circle moments aren’t random; they’re the result of alignment — that sweet spot where inner guidance meets the practical structure you’ve been building.
What Comes Next
So if alignment is the goal, what creates the space for it to happen again? The answer, I’ve learned, is letting go. Letting go of the fear of sharing and the pressure to make everything perfect before putting it out into the world.
Letting go doesn’t mean giving up. It’s the conscious act of creating space for alignment to find you. Like preparing the soil for intuition to grow..
So, what do you need to release to make space for your own full-circle moments?
What if growth didn’t come from striving, but from alignment — from showing up, trusting the process, and creating with intention?
October reminded me that when things come full circle, it’s not random luck.
It’s the direct result of alignment.
And maybe letting go is the space that makes that alignment possible.

Such a thoughtful take. Slow growth isn’t failure, it’s foundation. I love how you framed pace as something that protects the work instead of rushing
