I just started on Substack and appreciate your comments about slowness. Right now, I’m focusing solely on writing for me. I like to think of my page as a (not so) private journal. Different from my scratchy private journal, this one is more refined as I practice the fun of creative writing. Scratchy private journal is all free write and draft. Substack journal is a slightly polished, tended summary.
Hey! Just subbed to you. We seem to have a similar style and goal. I'd love to collab one day. I just started on this platform two weeks ago. I'm glad I found you! I love everything I've seen of yours this far ❤️
Though I love best practices on growth—useful and important knowledge to be gained—it was nice to read something more authentic.
As for technicalities, I think Notes on Substack (both posting and commenting) are doing wonders, even here in Hungary (I write in Hungarian, and the community is much, much smaller).
On the other hand, I believe the more shamelessly and openly you share your opinions and feelings (rather than just knowledge), the more committed people become to keep reading, commenting, and interacting.
I experience this on my own site, just as I have my favorite sites where I see the same.
I started and want to grow organically without the pressure, so I absolutely love the confirmation of the possibility!

Just being myself and understanding the power of reading others work and engaging genuinely
